Jacksonville Republican - Northwest Alabama Newspaper

More and more historical newspapers are showing up on line in digital collections.  The Jacksonville Republican first appeared in print in 1837 and was published almost continuously until 1904. There was a short break at the end of the Civil war. It is one of the oldest newspapers in Northeast Alabama. This collection is housed at the The Houston Cole Library, Jacksonville State University, Jacksonville Alabama.  This digital archive contains issues from the beginning of publication to December 1895.
